Meet The Teacher Week '13 - Classroom Digs

Hi Everyone!

It is Tuesday, and this may be one of the topics we are most excited about - getting to take a glimpse into other teachers' classrooms!

Liesel's Upper Grade Classroom...

Last week, Liesel did a post on her upper grade classroom decor.  Since she just got into her room today and everything is a MESS, here are just a couple updated pictures.  Make sure to check out her post from earlier for more of a tour!

Updated whole group meeting area and reading corner...pillow covers from IKEA!

Since I am going on maternity leave in just a couple months, I am making a "monthly" bulletin board for the outside wall.  I wanted to finish today but the fire alarms were being tested...no bueno!

The tree is for book recommendations.  When a student finishes a book and "recommends" it, they fill out a circle and hang it on the tree.  If another student chooses a book to read off the tree and writes a reflection, they both get a $50 bonus (more on my classroom economy system to come)!

Abby's Sweet Second Grade Room...

Abby is out of town this week, and couldn't take pictures for us.  Here are just a couple she had already. We will do a later post on her brand new second grade classroom!

Beautiful bulletin boards coming soon!
Word wall!

Katelyn's "In Progress" 1st/2nd Grade Room...

Katelyn has been working her tail off  (with a newborn!) trying to get her room set up for the first day of school in a few weeks. While her room is a little "upside down" right now, you can see just how adorable it is going to be!  An "after" tour will be posted soon!

Teacher area...how cute is the floral bulletin board, baskets, and vintage letter posters?!!

This will be a small reading corner.  Using a little paint to turn the back of these file cabinets into a Daily 5 CAFE board!

This will be the whole group meeting area.  The rug was an IKEA find!

We can't wait to check out all of the other teachers' classrooms! Come back tomorrow for Day 3 of Teacher Week '13 - Organizing for Instruction!
